with overnight in lappish hut
As described in the day tour. After lunch you have time for activities on your own. You can hike up to lake Alajaure. Try fishing (with your own equipment). For a small fee try canoeing in kayaks or mountain biking. In the end of the summer you can pick berries like blueberries, cowberries and cloudberries. You can do mushroom gathering or just enjoy the beautiful nature and it’s flora and fauna.
It can for an extra cost be arranged to try white water canoeing or white water swimming in the rapid (you need a guide for this activity). Or you can just relax by the campfire. After dinner you can enjoy a wooden heated sauna. You sleep comfortable on reindeer furs in sleeping bags in the warm lappish hut or in the small cottage on the camp. You make breakfast on your own. After breakfast you have more time for activities. After lunch you go back to Kiruna.
Included: Transfers to and from Kiruna, guide, boat to and from the camp, lodging, all meals, sauna.

Approximately 9.00 car transfer from your hostel/hotel in Kiruna to the village Kurravaara 20 min away. We go with a wooden riverboat upstream the river. There are no roads here, so the only way is to go with boat. The river floats calm through lakes and flatwaters. After 10 km we arrive to a lappish hut at Camp Vakkakoski. Camp Vakkakoski is located the meeting point of two big mountain rivers, Torne and Rautas. The hut is built the traditional way from wood and sod; building materials from the nature. Near the river are a rich animal life, and a lot of plants. You can make your own tea from plants growing along the river if you like. You can take a walk in the nature, or relax beside the campfire. Fishing is also possible (see “day-tour fishing”)
You will have a traditional lunch from reindeer or fish with potatoes in the warm wilderness cabin. Coffee, tea and cake. Vegetarian lunch is also available if announced in advance. You are back in Kiruna around 16.00.
