2-days MIDNIGHT SUN tour with overnight in a lappish hut

Approx. 9.00 car transfer from your hostel/hotel in Kiruna to the village Kurravaara 20 min away.  We go with a wooden riverboat upstream Torne river. There are no roads in the region, and you might see wild animals and birds such as eagles. The river floats calm through lakes and flat waters. After 10 km we arrive to the lappish hut, located at the meeting point of the two big mountain rivers, Torne and Rautas. The hut is built the traditional way from wood and sod; building materials from the nature. Near the river is a rich animal life, and lot of plants. If you like you can make your own tea from plants growing along the river. You will have a traditional lunch from reindeer meat or fish with potatoes in the warm wilderness cabin. Coffee, tea and cake. Vegetarian lunch is available if announced in advance. After lunch you have time for activities on your own. You can enjoy a peaceful day in nature, try some activities as fishing, shopping firewood, or just relax at the campfire. You can  hike  upstream Torne river along the 3km long rapid to lake Alajaure. You can rent canoes to explore the Rautas river delta “Lapplands Amazonas”  or the creeks down stream Torne river. After dinner you can enjoy a wooden heated sauna. You will enjoy the light night and the midnight sun. You sleep comfortable on reindeer furs in sleeping bags in the warm lappish hut. After lunch we go back by boat through the beautiful landscape to Kurravaara.
